As a result of the launch of the Affordable Care Act, significantly more Hispanic and non-Hispanic adults reported having healthcare coverage in May 2014 compared to November 2013 (open enrollment for 2014 ran from October ‘13 – March ‘14). -
For Hispanics, the increase was clearly driven by the Least Acculturated who in November ’13 had by far the lowest health insurance coverage compared to Biculturals and the Most Acculturated.

Among Hispanics, much of the increase came from the purchase of individual health insurance plans. Among non-Hispanics, more are taking advantage of employer-based coverage.
